SUKKUR: Over 100 suspects arrested

SUKKUR, Jan 21: The Sukkur police arrested more than 100 suspects in 20 villages on Tuesday night in the kidnapping case of three persons. ASI Ali Asghar Buriro, schoolteacher Abdul Sattar Buriro and an unidentified person were kidnapped four days back.

The police also took away 30 goats and buffaloes, five tractor-trolleys, two cars, rickshaws and seven motorcycles. Meanwhile, primary and mosque schools of Kandhra and its adjoining areas remained closed on Wednesday to protest against the incident. A procession was also taken out by the Primary Teachers Association in Kandhra, demanding recovery of the hostages.

INJURED: Two villagers were injured when they offered resistance to bandits who tried to deprive a man of his tractor in the Golo Gabanwans village near Naseer Abad, Balochistan, on Tuesday night.

The injured, Himmat Ali Taggar and Zulfiqar Ali Taggar, were taken to a hospital in Naseer Abad. Meawhile, four police officials were injured when a police mobile overturned near the Babarloi bypass here on Tuesday. The injured were identified as ASI Imtiaz Kalhoro and constables Zameer Shaikh, Gul Bahar Shaikh and Abdul Rehman Shaikh.
