SUKKUR, Jan 9: Armed men kidnapped the canteen manager of the local Frontier Constabulary camp, on Friday morning, at Pindala Nala, near Dera Bugti.

The canteen manager, Mohammad Anwar, son of Mehrab Gul Pathan, boarded a wagon from Sui for Dera Bugti, and when the wagon reached near Pindala Nala, (Balochistan) unidentified armed men intercepted the wagon, tortured, and kidnapped him, and fled towards the hilly area.

No case has been registered so far, nor any arrest was reported till the filing of this report. Meanwhile, TPO, Kandhkot, Thull and Tangwani, along with a strong contingent of police raided Garhi Tegho, near Karampur, following the alarming rise in highway robberies, kidnapping and other crimes in the area, on Friday morning.

Police reached Garhi Tegho and surrounded the area. Police reports alleged some 40 armed outlaws fired rockets on the policemen, and the encounter lasted for hours, after which the armed outlaws managed to flee. Later, police either bulldozed or set ablaze five hideouts of the outlaws.

It may be recalled that, the armed dacoits had attacked a police convoy last week, in which one person was killed and another injured. Police sources said that, the aim of recent operation was to curb the activities of outlaws in the area.
