CHITRAL, May 11: The religious-cum-cultural festival of Kalash community “Chelum-Jusht” will start on Sunday in the Kalash valley.

The festival known as welcome to spring, according to the faith of Kalash, is the first of three annual festivals the Kalash people celebrate.

The spring arrives in the scenic valley of Kalash, Rambore, Bamborate and Barir in May, when all planes and hills become green with the classic scenes of clean water streams.

People from all over the world come here to enjoy the natural beauty and observe the century-old culture preserved here.

The festival which will continue till May 18 is open to all and the Kalash people use to dance and sing collectively in an open ground, specified for cultural and religious activities.
