HYDERABAD, Aug 1: Pakistan International Airlines has decided to operate two weekly flights from Hyderabad to Islamabad and Lahore via Nawabshah.

A PIA press release says the Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed that Hyderabad airport will be ready on Aug 18, and therefore, the first flight will be operated on Aug 19.

REFERENDUM: Registrar, National Industrial Relations Commission, Ghulam Nabi Deeshak and CAA headquarters’ representative H.R. Shahzada Alam met the office-bearers of Union of Civil Aviation Employees discussed arrangements for referendum to be held on Tuesday.

The Hyderabad airport building had been decorated.

Office-bearers of other unions also met the NIRC official.

Library: Area Study Centre for Far East and Southeast Asia of University of Sindh has set up a library with a unique collection of books on South Asia, reports our correspondent.

The library was inaugurated by Sindh University’s Vice-Chancellor, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, on Friday. A large number of scholars, directors of teaching centres and institutes, chairpersons of departments and senior professors were present.

Director of the centre Dr Lutfullah Mangi while briefing the VC said the books on politics, social sciences, cultural and economics of the South Asian and other countries were available in the library. He said that (HEC) had given Rs2.2 million to the centre for infrastructure and furniture for setting up the library.
