LARKANA, July 19: The government has finally accepted the district government employees’ demand for the release of corporation allowance and issued a notification to this effect.

The Finance Department issued a notification on July 15 with the approval of Sindh chief minister, said sources in the district government on Saturday.

The chief minister allowed facilities to the government employees performing duties under Larkana Municipal Corporation with immediate effect, on the pattern of Sukkur Municipal Corporation, said Iqbl Ahmed Shaikh, deputy secretary finance who signed the notification.

The employees would now get house rent allowance at the rate of 45 per cent of the minimum of their salary and conveyance allowance at the prescribed rate, as admissible for government employees posted in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur.

The announcement sent a wave of jubilation through the employees. Sabir Soomro, president of Sindh Employees United Grand Alliance, welcomed the government decision and thanked all the unions who had supported the demand.
