SWABI, June 24: Floodwater washed away the Tandkohi causeway on the main Topi-Zaida road after heavy rain lashed the district on Tuesday, suspending traffic to many areas. The traffic has been diverted to Topi-Swabi road.

The downpour caused a rise in floodwaters and the low-lying areas were flooded. Officials of the works and services department declared that till the construction of the causeway the transport on the Topi-Zaida road could not be resumed.

The causeway was constructed two years back after the Tandkohi bridge was washed away by the rainwater. —Correspondent
