KHAIRPUR, June 7: Activists of a number of trade and social organisations staged a demonstration here on Saturday in protest against loadshedding.

The protesters led by Comrade Shahbaz Dino Phulpoto, Shahbaz Dino, Khalid Bhatti, Amjad Lashari and Ashraf Mughal said that loadshedding had paralysed routine trade activities and seriously affected private and government construction work.

They said that in such a hot weather, people were experiencing 10 to 12 hours long loadshedding in violation of official announcement of six hours by Hesco.

They said that patients admitted to private and government hospitals were the worse sufferers.

KILLED: A man was killed while he was asleep at home in Ghulam Mohammad Vatiyo village of Sobhodero taluka early on Saturday.

Shah Bux , uncle of the deceased Haleemullah, 20, said that some unidentified people slaughtered him with a knife. They had no enmity with anyone, he added. The body was handed over to relatives after post mortem.

Meanwhile, body of Rizwana Bhatti who was allegedly killed by her husband, Irshad Ali Bhatti on Friday, was handed over to her relatives after post-mortem. Police have arrested Irshad Ali Bhatti and lodged a case against him.
