HYDERABAD, May 20: Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Haji Mohammad Yaqoob has said that through revival of sick industry, unemployment can be controlled, adding that the sick bangle industry is being revived.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Al-Harmain Glass Bangles Industry here on Tuesday.

He urged businessmen to set up glass units for manufacturing other glass items in addition to bangles.

He said that on the recommendation of the Hyderabad Chamber, Smeda was setting up a glass products design development centre at a cost of Rs40 million.

He said this would facilitate entrepreneurs to produce glass decoration items, bottles and other items for export.

He said that the bangle industry in Hyderabad had received a set back due to labour and social security problems but due to the efforts of the chamber, these problems had been minimised.

He also called upon the SITE management to remove encroachments in the area which were a great impediment in the transportation of industrial raw material and finished goods.

HESCO: The Hesco chief on Tuesday has issued instructions to the company officials to keep their air-conditioners closed between 8am to 11am and to use only one light in each room of their offices.

The director of human resources and administration in a statement to press said that strict action will be taken against those who did not comply with these orders.

He appealed to consumers to ensure the success of “Save Energy Campaign” by using energy savers bulbs.
