HYDERABAD: SU VC leaves for UK

HYDERABAD, Feb 19: The vice-chancellor of the University of Sindh Mazharul Haq Siddiqui left here on Monday for the United Kingdom on the invitation of the director of the Brunel University London.

During his weeklong visit, from Feb 20 to 27, he would visit three other universities including the University of Leicester, University of York and University of Glasgow where faculty members of Sindh University were registered for PhD programme, said a university spokesman.

The vice-chancellor would sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the three universities for the promotion of joint academic and research programmes between the universities of UK and the University of Sindh, he said.

LUMHS: The registrar of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences issued notices to seven university employees for levelling serious allegations against the university administration in a press conference on Feb 13.

The show-cause notices called upon the employees to substantiate their allegations with evidence or face disciplinary action under the Removal from Service (special powers) Ordinance.
