KOHAT, Jan 24: Unidentified militants blew up an electricity tower between Daudkhel and Kohat, disrupting power supply to the entire southern belt of the NWFP and four tribal regions late on Wednesday night.

In another incident, miscreants attempted to blow up a crush machine in Togh Bala area on Rawalpindi road which caused damage to gadgets. The four labourers, who were on duty at the time of the blast, remained unharmed. The Saddar police registered a case and initiated investigations.

Sources in the Wapada told Dawn on Thursday that the militants had attached explosives to tower number-159, which exploded at 2am. The nearby tower, number-161, was also partially damaged in the blast.
