HYDERABAD, Jan 14: Leaders of the Tando Allahyar chapter of the Pakistan People’s Party organised a condolence meeting and paid rich tribute to Benazir Bhutto and said she had rendered invaluable services for democracy.

The meeting was attended by hundreds of people.

PPP leaders Abdul Sattar Bachani, former MPAs Syed Ali Nawaz Shah Rizvi and Abdul Ghani Dars and Imdad Pitafi termed Ms Bhutto one of the greatest stateswoman of the world and said she was last hope of 160 million people of Pakistan.

They said that she had been assassinated by anti-democracy and anti-state elements, effectively removing her from the country’s political scene under a conspiracy.

Condemning the registration of fake cases against thousands of PPP activists, they warned that the move would have serious outcome.
