HYDERABAD, Jan 6: Hyderabad DCO Aftab Ahmed Khatri has said that the district government has decided to establish police pickets at General Bus Stand and other busy spots in the city to protect transporters during strikes and chaotic conditions.

Presiding over a meeting with transporters at Shahbaz Building on Saturday, the official asked the affected transporters to lodge FIRs at concerned police stations against miscreants who damaged their vehicles or report it on 115 in case police officers refused to cooperate with them.

He advised them to submit details of damages to the committees headed by DDOs of revenue so that the committee could recommend their claims for compensation.

He assured that in future the administration would make foolproof arrangements especially during strikes or emergency situation. The administration would relax ban on entry of heavy vehicles into the city during daytime for few days to ease supply of food grain.
