MARDAN, Dec 12: Pakistan People’s Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto said on Thursday that after coming to power her party would solve the problems of the downtrodden people in the country.

Talking to Dawn at the residence of PPP candidate for PF-23 Haji Arshad Khan, Ms Bhutto termed Mardan a mini-Larkana and said that the PPP candidates would sweep the district.

She said that PML (N) president Nawaz Sharif had made a wise decision to take part in the elections.

She urged PPP candidates and workers to reach out to the masses and explain the party’s manifesto to them.

She said that workers were the real asset of the party and asked them to create harmony and unity in their ranks to put the country back on the track of peace and prosperity. Ms Bhutto said that the PPP government would set up a university in Mardan to meet the growing needs of modern education of the people.
