KOHAT, Dec 11: Militants on Tuesday publicly executed an alleged outlaw wanted by the Kohat police in connection with two murder cases in Darra Adamkhel.

Talking to Dawn, local Taliban chief Tariq claimed that the accused had ‘confessed’ to having killed six people for money and refused to leave the area. He had been captured on Sunday.

He said Taliban had received an appeal from a woman that Dildar, a fugitive and resident of College Town, Kohat, was hiding in Darra Adamkhel after killing her son on May 16.

Faqeeran Bibi had also complained to them in a letter that Dildar was sending her threatening messages and she had to pay him Rs60,000 to save the life of another son.

A jirga held on Monday sentenced the accused to death after a brief trial and the sentence was carried out on Tuesday in the presence of hundreds of people. The man was killed by a single bullet in the head.

Earlier, Taliban had killed a man in revenge for violence in the Kurram Agency a fortnight ago.

Two other men accused of spying for the government were shot dead last month.
