NAWABSHAH, Dec 6: Lawyers in several cities and towns of the province on Thursday observed black day and boycotted courts in protest against imposition of emergency and dismissal of judges after their refusal to take oath under the Provisional Constitution Order.

In Nawabshah, a meeting of District Bar Association presided over by Ali Mohammad Dahri condemned the government for forcing the dismissed judges to vacate their residences.

They demanded reinstatement of all the dismissed judges and lifting of emergency and PCO. Later, they staged a march in the court premises. Lawyers in Umerkot also boycotted court proceedings.

In Hyderabad, lawyers boycotted courts against imposition of emergency and dismissal of judges. They staged a demonstration in the civil courts’ premises, which was led by senior lawyers Abdul Khaliq Leghari and Fazal Qadir Memon among others.
