HYDERABAD, Nov 29: The Chamber police arrested Assistant Excise Taxation Officer (AETO) and two constables for trespassing on houses of villagers on Thursday following registration of a case against them on a complaint.

Earlier, the residents blocked Tando Allahyar-Sheikh Bhirkio road and burnt tyres at several places in protest over the trespassing.

The officials, AETO Amir Akhund and excise police constables, Bakhshal and Niaz, were arrested under Sections 337, 395, 17(3), 220, 504 PPC vide crime no 92/07.

The case was lodged on the compliant of Ghulam Hussain Lund after former Sindh revenue minister Dr. Irfan Gul Magsi rushed to the spot from Hyderabad as residents created law and order situation.

Reports said that the excise police had barged into the houses of Rasool Bux Lund, Zulfikar Lund and Hashim Lund in the community’s locality on Thursday in Bukera Sharif without search warrants which infuriated the people. They resisted strongly and came out of their homes.

The villagers forced the raiding excise party to flee and according to local people the excise officials resorted to aerial firing.
