HYDERABAD, Nov 18: Eleven activits of Awami Tehrik were arrested on Sunday in Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas and Larkana in protest against imposition of emergency in the country.

In Hyderabad, Cantonment police arrested five AT activists Ghaffar Malik, Khalid Dhamah, Heeru Mal, Imran Bhurgari and Khalid Palijo.

Tehrik leaders Ayaz Latif Palijo and Vishnu Mal condemned the arrests saying that the people had been held hostage and the country had been enslaved.

In Mirpurkhas, three Awami Tehrik workers were detained here on Sunday.

Police arrested Kirshan Lal, Ali Nawaz Dahri and Pancho Mal Meghwar when they staged a demonstration on the M.A. Jinnah Road outside the district and sessions court and raised slogans against the government.

In Larakana, three activists Nisar Buriro, Arbab Janwari and Bilawal Buriro were arrested when they were demonstrating against emergency, curbs on media and suspension of constitution at the main gate of Jinnahbagh on Sunday.
