HYDERABAD, Nov 10: Water and Sanitation Agency, HDA has discovered a novel method for the recovery of outstanding water charges from the defaulters by punishing those who have paid every last penny of their outstanding dues which is a flagrant violation of fundamental human rights and law.

The Wasa authorities have notified the residents of multi-storey buildings and plazas that their water supply will be suspended if the outstanding dues were not paid.

This applies equally to the consumers who have paid bills up to the month of October 2007 as well as others who have never paid their dues.

Wasa is applying a draconian method to recover the dues from the defaulters by issuing general orders that the water supply of all the residents will be disconnected if the dues were not paid by the defaulters.

It has proposed to disconnect water supply to both the defaulters as well as those who are paying their charges regularly every month.
