HYDERABAD, Oct 22: Sindh Taraqi Passand Party Chairman, Dr Qadir Magsi while paying tributes to martyrs of October 18 has said their blood will not go in vain and time was not far when dictatorship and terrorism will be uprooted.

He was speaking at a condolence meeting held at the Taraqi Passand House here, on Sunday. He said forces responsible for the bloodbath had always opposed restoration of democracy, supremacy of parliament, independent judiciary and press, and the rule of law. Magsi said his party was struggling for democracy, secularism, and equality among all nations. He said in the last 16 years, the STP never compromised on these issues, and claimed the APDM objectives were similar to theirs.

The STP’s Senior Vice Chairman Dr Hameed Memon, General Secretary Sindh Democratic Forum Zulfiqar Halepoto, Nazeer Memon, Hote Khan Gadhi, Muzaffar Kalhoro and others also condemned the incident.

SUP: The Sindh United Party has decided to launch mass

contact campaign throughout Sindh to muster support of people for the coming general elections. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the Central Council of the party held at Jamshoro on Sunday. Syed Jalal Mehmood Shah presided over the meeting.

The meeting offered Fateha for victims of the October 18 carnage in Karachi and condemned the terrorist attack on the convoy of Ms Benazir Bhutto. The meeting observed the SUP had a separate identity and it would decide about entering into an election alliance with other political parties when considered feasible.
