HYDERABAD, Oct 2: District nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has said that helping the poor to enable them to participate in Eid celebrations was not only a great virtue but worship.
He said, it was indeed a happy augury that even in the present materialistic age, there were people who were helping the under privileged.
He said this while distributing Eid gifts among the poor people on behalf of “Ehsas Welfare Trust Pakistan” in village Mohammad Bux Parhiar in the outskirts of Hyderabad on Monday evening.
The chairman of the Trust Dr Rasool Bux Barham, Ms Zaibunnisa Mallah, UC nazims of the area, Mohammad Thebo, Pir Abdul Rasheed Jan Sarhandi, Faisal Nizamani and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
He said the poor people were also an integral part of the society and it was therefore the duty of rich and philanthropists to cooperate with the government in helping the needy people.
Kanwar Naveed Jamil said that even otherwise it was the moral and religious duty of those who could afford to help their under privileged brethrens. He praised Ehsas Welfare Trust for helping the poor and the needy people. He announced an ambulance for the trust.
Later, the district nazim distributed cloths and Eid gifts among the poor people.
The chairman of the trust, Dr Rasool Bux Barham in his welcome address said that the trust had constructed tanks in the villages to supply water to the poor people and added that 100 sewing machines had also been given to the poor women who were also being provided training at the centre.
