HYDERABAD, Sept 5: The Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union on Wednesday accused the activists of rival union of defacing their stickers, pamphlets and banners at the Hesco headquarters in Hussainabad.

The union’s office-bearers said at a news conference at the press club that the rival union had resorted to unfair election practices ever since the announcement of date for referendum. NIRC had fixed Sept 12 for referendum.

They said that the incident had created resentment and provocation among their supporters. They said that their election meetings, processions and rallies had always remained peaceful and regretted that the rival union had levelled baseless allegations against them on the electronic media.

They alleged that the office-bearers of rival union were not attending to their duties and feared the prevailing state of affairs could lead to some untoward incident.

They said that Hydro union had won all the three referendums in the past and was certain to win the Sept 12 referendum.

PML-Q: The leaders of dissident group of PML-Q, who had launched “remove district office bearers movement”, distributed sweets outside the press club on Wednesday to express their joy at the removal of Senator Ghaffar Qureshi from the post of political secretary to the chief minister.

Leaders, S.M.Ilyas, Mehboob Junejo and Guddu Qambrani said that the removal of Ghaffar Qureshi was a great victory for the devoted party workers. The chief minister had won the hearts of party workers by removing him, they said.

They demanded that the district office-bearers who had been thrust on the party in Hyderabad by the senator should also be removed.
