HYDERABAD, Aug 3: Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz Chairman Bashir Qureshi on Friday demanded of the government to declare all flood-affected parts of Sindh and Balochistan as calamity hit areas besides paying compensation to flood victims.

He was speaking to journalists at the hunger strikers camp of JSQM activists, who were observing hunger strike against delay in rehabilitation of flood affected people.

He said that millions of people had been affected due to rains and floods in Sindh and Balochistan but the federal government was least concerned over their plight.

He said that still countless number of people were marooned and their villages remained inundated.

He added that rulers had set two different standards for the people in the country as quake affected people in Azad Kashmir were given unprecedented assistance but Sindhi and Baloch people were completely neglected.

Meanwhile, 25 activists led by Dr Niaz Kalani, staged a token hungers strike outside press club, raising slogans against government.

They would announce their protest drive programme later.
