HYDERABAD, May 10: Kanwar Jafar, a local leader of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), has alleged that he has been threatened with arrest if he took the people from Hyderabad to Karachi for the May 12 rally.

He was speaking at a press conference on Wednesday mainly addressed by PML labour wing general secretary Malik Naeem Awan at the press club on Thursday.

Mr Awan appealed to the workers, peasants and people to participate in large number in the rally to welcome Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

Speaking at a news conference Mr Awan condemned firing at the residence of Munir A. Malik, president, Supreme Court Bar Association, and the counsel of the chief justice. The labour leader warned that such incidents could bear serious consequences.

He said since the country’s masses had become very conscious, no one would be able to stem the tide of revolution.
