HYDERABAD, May 9: The second international conference on “Sindh: Past, Present and Future” will be organised jointly by the University of Sindh and Karachi University in February next year.

According to a Sindh University spokesman, a recent meeting finalised topics of papers to be read at the conference and names of scholars to be invited to present papers. It decided to hold the conference in four sessions, each titled “Indus Valley and Culture, “Language and Literature”, “Education and Media” and “Economy and Development of Sindh”.

The meeting constituted a committee, to be headed by story writer Qamar Shahbaz, to chalk out cultural programmes to be held during the conference.

The meeting was presided over by Sindh University Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui and attended by Dr G. A Allana, Dr Fahmida Hussain, Dr Mohammad Qasim Bughio, Professor Saleem Memon, Shaukat Hussain Shoro and Zulfiqar Haelepoto.—APP
