THATTA, March 23: A young woman has appealed to President Gen Pervez Musharraf to save her and her relatives from excesses of the Sujawal TPO and the Chuhar Jamali SHO who, she alleges, are pressuring her to rejoin her former husband despite dissolution of their marriage ordered by a court.

Talking to journalists outside the sessions court on Thursday, Fatima said TPO (investigation) Sujawal, Malik Qasim, in connivance with the SHO, had implicated her, her octogenarian father Khuda Bux Gunu and two relatives in a concocted case.

The police, she added, had moved into action after getting their palms greased by her ex-husband, and were exerting pressure on her either to remarry him or face consequences.

According to Fatima, five years ago she was married to Vikio but within one year, her husband, who was a gambler, chronic addict and jobless, started compelling her to earn money through prostitution. On refusal, she was thrashed by her husband and, as a last resort, she shifted to her father’s house where she was living peacefully.

Meanwhile, she filed a suit for dissolution of marriage in the court of second family judge, Sujawal, and the court dissolved the marriage through ‘Khulla’.

She alleged that her in-laws hatched a conspiracy in connivance with the TPO, who instituted a fabricated case against them at the Chuhar Jamali police station, alleging that she had been ‘kidnapped by her father three years ago” from her in-laws’ house.

Fatima said that with the registration of the FIR, the TPO and SHO along with heavy contingents of police, stormed their house, misbehaved and manhandled the inmates and took away her ailing father.

“The TPO is pressuring me to rejoin my ex-husband despite a valid court order,” she said.

When contacted, TPO Qasim said Fatima had re-married one of her relatives a few days before the dissolution of her marriage with Vikio. Since it was an offence, the police were pursuing the matter, he added.

Liaquat Jamali, the lawyer of Fatima, told journalists that he had filed a complaint against the TPO and the SHO in the court of the district and session judge, Thatta, who had summoned them to appear in the court on March 28.
