HYDERABAD, Jan 17: The Pakistan Workers Federation, interior Sindh region, at a meeting held here on Wednesday, condemned flagrant violations of labour laws by factory owners and called on the Sindh labour department to ensure implementation of the laws in letter and spirit.

Mehboob Ali Qureshi presided over the meeting, which expressed concern over the denial of rights to bangle industry workers and said that the workers had no security of service. Due to non-implementation of labour laws, they were deprived of medical treatment and pension, the meeting noted.

It demanded that the Al-Madina bangle unit, which had declared lock-out, be reopened and the workers be paid salaries for the lock-out period. The meeting observed that 200 families had been affected during the lock-out.
