SWABI, Jan 15: District Nazim Shahram Khan has directed the heads of government departments to ensure that their junior staff attended to their work regularly. He was speaking at a meeting of executive district officers of finance, education, health, agriculture and other departments on Monday. The nazim said there were complaints from different quarters that officials, particularly the junior staff, usually remained absent from their offices, causing difficulties to the masses.

He said he would pay surprise visits to offices and check the attendance of the staff, adding that strict action would be taken against those found absent.

WALK HELD: The health department organised a walk here on Monday to raise awareness among people about polio.

The walk started from the District Headquarters Hospital and terminated at the Kernel Sher chowk. Later, the district nazim inaugurated an anti-polio campaign in the hospital.
