HARIPUR, Dec 30: People’s Party Parliamentarians provincial coordinator Dr Adnan Bashir has said that the PPP will seek consent of district presidents and general secretaries while allotting tickets to candidates for the coming general election.

“The party will ensure that district chapters are not bypassed at any stage before finalisation of candidates for each constituency,” he said while speaking to newsmen here on Saturday.

He said that previous practice of ‘pick and choose’ and not taking the district-level leadership into confidence had developed disillusion among workers.

“This time we are not going to repeat the old mistakes because the party’s vote bank was inflating with every passing day,” he said.

He said that the nation was under dictatorship for seven years and the PPP was the only political party that would make the marginalised communities to get rid of their miseries.

Dr Adnan said that the PPP would file candidates from each provincial and national assembly seat in Hazara and would emerge as the largest parliamentary party in the NWFP.

Replying to a question, he said that any seat adjustment between the PPP and the PML-N was not the part of the Charter of Democracy, but he believed that it could bring about stunning results if the leadership of both parties agreed upon only at the Hazara level.

He said that the party was being reorganised at the district level and traders’ wing, PSF, People’s Youth Organisation, People’s Doctors’ Forum, People’s Lawyers’ Forum, People’s labor wings being reactivated.
