SUKKUR, Sept 7: Minister of State for Defence Khalid Ahmed Lund has inaugurated gas supply to Ubauro taluka of Ghotki district. The project has been completed at a cost of Rs24 millions and 31 kilometres-long pipeline has been laid to supply gas to 1,300 houses.

Speaking on the occasion the other day, he said that not a single village would remain without electricity or gas till 2007.

He said the government was trying to provide all basic amenities to the people of downtrodden areas, to bring them at par with the developed ones.

He said the government did not believe in the revengeful politics, and aim of its politics was to serve the masses.

He said the government had spent Rs50 millions on the electrification project in taluka Ubauro and more Rs25 millions electrification projects would be taken up.

Khalid Lund was of the view that, sense of disappointment was prevailing among the opposition, following the failure of no confidence motion against the Prime Minister.

He claimed that, the people are not supporting opposition and added that, the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy and Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) could work together.

Ruling out any down sizing in the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), he said measures were being adopted to better its performance.
