LARKANA: A man and his three-year-old daughter were killed in a road accident near Shahdadkot-Ratodero bypass, some 40 kilometres from here, on Sunday. Two other women were seriously injured in the incident, police said.

The victims were riding a motorcycle, which was hit by a speeding mini-truck.

The deceased were identified as Arbelo Jalbani, who was driving the two-wheeler, and his daughter, Padam Pari, 3. Both died on the spot. His wife, Humaira, and mother-in-law, Mrs Gulbano, were critically injured.

All the victims were rushed to the Radodero Taluka Hospital, where the bodies were handed over to the heirs for a postmortem examination and later handed over to the heirs.

The injured women were referred to the Larkana Trauma Centre for treatment.

Their family member, Tariq Jalbani, told media personnel that the victims had come to Ratodero to obtain medicines and were returning to their home in the Allahabad Jalbani village, in Sujawal Junejo taluka, when the accident took place.

The Ratodero police have arrested the mini-truck driver and impounded his vehicle.
