LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) administration dismissed on Thursday a deputy manager (executive engineer) and suspended a line superintendent from service in Kasur circle over alleged misconduct and violation of departmental rules.

According to a spokesperson for the company, the charges against Deputy Manager Shahzaib Bhutto were proved during a departmental inquiry, after which he was dismissed from service.

In a separate action, Line Superintendent-1 Farukh Junaid, having acting charge of sub-divisional officer (SDO) of the Lalyani Sub-Division in Kasur, was suspended from service over alleged misconduct. The spokesperson says Mr Junaid had been attached to the relevant circle office during his suspension pending further departmental proceedings, in accordance with the rules and regulations.

he says the action was taken on the instructions of Lesco Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Eng Mohammad Ramzan Butt, who, according to a statement, directed that departmental discipline and transparency in official affairs should be ensured.

Lesco administration says it is taking action in accordance with rules in the cases involving negligence, corruption and misconduct by the company officials. “We are committed to ensure discipline, merit and transparency and that departmental action will be taken without discrimination against employees found guilty of negligence, misconduct or violation of the company rules,” the Lesco CEO says.
