CHARSADDA: Bacha Khan University Charsadda has signed four-year affiliation agreements with its affiliated public and private colleges to strengthen academic standards, improve teaching quality and ensure the provision of modern educational facilities for students.
The agreements were signed during a meeting attended by vice chancellor Prof Khan Alam, registrar Prof Ikramullah and principals of affiliated public and private colleges. Speaking on the occasion, the vice chancellor said that ensuring quality education, modern academic facilities and qualified teaching staff in affiliated colleges remained the university’s top priority.
He said all affiliated institutions would be required to comply fully with the regulations of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the university including prescribed curricula, admission policies and examination procedures.
Prof Khan Alam also met with the principals of affiliated colleges, listened to their concerns and suggestions and assured them that genuine issues would be addressed. Participants agreed to further strengthen the affiliation system by making it more transparent, effective and beneficial for students.
Academic standards, teaching quality to be improved
Under the agreement, the university will remain responsible for conducting examinations, announcing results and awarding degrees. The HEC and the university will also have the authority to inspect affiliated colleges to assess their academic standards, infrastructure and other educational facilities.
The agreement will remain effective for four years and may be renewed by mutual consent upon its expiry.
Meanwhile, the youth parliament Tangi organised a rally in Charsadda on Friday to express solidarity with the armed forces and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police.
Participants carrying national flags marched through various roads before gathering at Farooq-i-Azam Chowk, where they chanted slogans in support of the armed forces and the provincial police.
Addressing the gathering, youth parliament representatives including Afaq Hassan and Bacha Syed said the people stood firmly with the security forces and remained committed to supporting efforts aimed at safeguarding national security and stability. The speakers paid tribute to the sacrifices made by personnel of the security forces and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police in the fight against terrorism.
