SAHIWAL: A man was allegedly kidnapped, tortured and held captive for three hours at an abandoned farmhouse by six men who suspected him of informing police about their drug business.

Reports said Tajmal Hussain, a small landowner from Village 16/11-L, was returning home on Friday when he was allegedly abducted by six armed suspects riding three motorcycles.

The suspects reportedly took him to a deserted farmhouse, where he was beaten, tied to a tree and threatened through aerial firing. They accused him of tipping off police about their drug trade and blamed recent police raids on information allegedly provided by him. It is reported that some passersby alerted the Rescue 15 police helpline, prompting Saddar Chichawatni Police to raid the location.

The police recovered the injured Tajmal Hussain and arrested three suspects, identified as Muhammad Fayyaz, Muhammad Imran and Asad alias Noja Machee, while three other accomplices managed to escape.

Police have registered a case and launched further investigation into the incident.
