TAXILA: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) clinched the National Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship title after defeating Pakistan Navy 3-1 in the final at the Gymnasium Hall of the POF Sports Complex in Wah Cantt on Sunday.

PAF secured the national title for the 13th time as captain Fahad Raza, Afaq Khan and Saqib Bacha played key roles in the victory with impressive performances throughout the match.

Navy made a strong start and won the opening set 25-16 through the efforts of Mubashir Wattoo and Abu Zar to take a 1-0 lead.

PAF, however, bounced back in the second set as Fahad Raza and Afaq Khan led the side to a 25-21 win to level the match.

Maintaining the momentum, PAF claimed the third set 25-21 to move ahead 2-1. In the fourth set, PAF outclassed Navy with effective blocking and aggressive attacks. Fahad once again led from the front as PAF sealed the set 25-18 to complete a 3-1 victory. Earlier, Wapda secured third position after beating Pakistan Army 3-1 in the playoff.

Wapda won the first two sets 25-19 and 25-15 before Army staged a fightback to take the third set 26-24. However, Wapda regained control in the fourth set and wrapped up the match with a 25-17 win.
