TOBA TEK SINGH: Police claimed to have found the remains of a child, who was kidnapped on April 29, from the graveyard of his village, Chak 279 JB Bajwara in Gojra tehsil on Sunday.
Police said deceased Arham Zahid (12) disappeared from his home and a kidnapping case was registered against unidentified persons on April 29 by the Nawan Lahore Police. His father Zahid had claimed in his complaint that his son went out to play in the street but did not return after several hours.
Police said the body had been shifted to the Gojra THQ hospital for autopsy.
Toba DPO Akhlaqullah Tarar visited the village and assured the victim’s parents that the kidnappers-cum-murderers of the boy would be arrested at the earliest.
OFFICIALS REASSIGNED: Taking notice of public complaints, Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen reshuffled 10 officials of different branches of her office and directed them to report to their new assignments immediately.
According to the notification issued in this regard, the officials of revenue branch, general branch, reader, copy branch, admin branch, record room, superintendent office and complaint cell had been transferred.
MAN MURDERS SON: An elderly man allegedly killed his son over a property dispute on Sunday in Chak 315 GB in the Chuttiana area of Toba.
Police said the deceased, government school teacher Dilshad Hussain (40), exchanged harsh words with his father Mukhtar Ahmad (71), who allegedly hit Dilshad with an axe on the head and other body parts and killed him. After the murder, the accused remained present in his house and the Chuttiana Police took him into custody.
Meanwhile, a young man identified as Allah Ditta was standing in front of his house when three men on a motorcycle hit him with sharp choppers and killed him at Adda Mahmood Kot in Jhang.
ACCIDENTS: A man was burnt alive when a fire broke out after a head-on collision between a motorcycle rickshaw and a motorcycle near the Jaranwala motorway M-3 interchange on Sunday.
Rescue 1122 claimed that the accident took place due to speeding by both vehicles, while the two bike riders had a petrol-filled cane with them which caused the fire. They said that the rickshaw driver was seriously burnt and he died instantly.
When this report was filed, the deceased could not be identified, while five others who received burn wounds had been shifted to the Jaranwala THQ Hospital. They include Mahir Ali (36), Nadeem (40), Saleem (48), Bashiran Bibi (45) and Shagufta Bibi (36).
Meanwhile at Abdul Hakim in Khanewal, a speeding bus bound for Lahore from Nadhpur turned over on the Makhdoompur-Dinpur Road and six passengers were injured as a result.
They were shifted to the Abdul Hakim THQ Hospital and were identified as Sufian (8), Wahid (25), Husnain (30), Zulekha Bibi (48) and Ayesha (36).
In another accident, a youth was electrocuted in Chak 77 GB of Satiana area in Faisalabad on Sunday. Police said deceased Muzammal was repairing an electric switch when he touched a live electric wire and he died instantly.
ABSCONDER REPATRIATED: An absconder on the run for 11 years has been arrested from UAE through Interpol.
A press release issued by the Faisalabad Police spokesperson claimed that accused Faisal Imran had shot and killed Bashir Ahmed and seriously injured Muhammad Ashfaq 11 years ago over a dispute. After the incident, the spokesperson said, the accused managed to escape abroad. On the request of Mureedwala Police, a red warrant of the accused was issued through the Interpol for his arrest, he added.
RAPIST ARRESTED: A vagabond was arrested for allegedly raping a child in Chak 124/15L of Mian Channu tehsil on Sunday.
The victim’s father in his complaint to the Mian Channu Saddar Police claimed that his son A went to the mosque to get water from a water cooler where accused S was present alone. He claimed the accused overpowered his son and raped him while threatening to kill him.
The accused fled after the incident, however, police traced his whereabouts and arrested him.
