KARACHI: Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has formally inaugurated a modern post-delivery ward at Sobhraj Maternity Hospital.

After the inauguration, he visited various departments of the hospital and reviewed in detail the medical facilities being provided to patients. On this occasion, the mayor also met patients and their attendants and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.

Addressing the ceremony, he said that the post-delivery ward has been equipped with modern beds, advanced medical equipment, and a comfortable environment to ensure the best care for mothers and newborns.

He noted that while private hospitals charge hundreds of thousands of rupees for deliveries, the same service is available at Sobhraj Maternity Hospital for only Rs1,000, providing major relief to the public.

He added that the establishment of the ward will not only reduce the burden of patients but will also significantly improve healthcare services.

The mayor further said that the old building of Sobhraj Maternity Hospital holds significant historical importance, and KMC has initiated improvement works to restore and modernise the facility.
