HYDERABAD: Nine people received burn injuries after an LPG cylinder exploded and caused fire in a shop located in Latifabad, Unit-11, on late Monday night.

Officials at the A-Section police station said that the incident took place while decanting was underway at the shop. The victims were shifted to the Liaquat University Hospital (LUH), city branch, for treatment.

According to the hospital’s burns ward registrar, Dr Roshan, the injuries appeared moderate, i.e. between 5pc and 10pc.

Latifabad Assistant Commissioner Saud Loond said that the shop was being run discreetly in a house, and added that its owner and his tenant fled the area after the incident.
