LARKANA: An undertrial prisoner, identified as Sajjan Mahesar, died in the jail ward of the Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Tuesday.

He was taken to the jail ward only a day after being transferred to the Larkana Central Prison from the district jail.

Mahesar was booked at the Waleed police station in a drugs-related case a few days ago.

Central prison’s Superintendent Abdul Fatah Abbasi said the UTP, a drug addict, was so weak that the prison’s medical officer had advised his referral to the CMC Hospital, where he died on Tuesday.
