Nine suspects killed in CCD ‘encounters’

TOBA TEK SINGH: Nine suspects have been killed in encounters with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in different parts of the province.

In one incident, CCD officials said that a joint CCD team led by Lyallpur Town CCD In-charge Siddique Cheema, Iqbal Town In-charge CCD Ali Ikram Goraya and CCD Police Station SHO Farooq Nazar was present near the Sem Nullah in Ghulam Muhammadabad area of Faisalabad.

The officials claimed that a gang of eight criminals after seeing the police opened indiscriminate fire, which was also returned. When the firing stopped, police claimed to have found four suspects dead by the bullets fired by their own accomplices.

The officials claimed that their four accomplices escaped taking advantage of the darkness of the night. The deceased were identified as Haroon alias Shaari of Chak 220 RB, Aftab alias Faizi of Mahmood Town, Shahbaz Ali of Jhang and Naseer alias Nasiri of Lahore.

CCD claimed they were proclaimed offenders involved in dozens of cases of murder, bus dacoities, robbery, attempt to murder, extortion, police encounters, and shooting and injuring citizens for resisting during robberies in different police stations of Punjab, including Faisalabad, Lahore and Kasur.

The CCD Police station took the bodies into custody and shifted them to the

hospital.

In Jaranwala, two suspects were killed in an alleged encounter with the CCD.

Police claimed CCD Jaranwala In-charge Adeel Shaukat and his team were on their way to arrest a proclaimed offender when five outlaws opened fire on the team near Chak 63 GB. Police claimed that two suspects were seriously injured by the firing of their own accomplices, while the others escaped.

The injured accused were identified as Babar Ghani Gujjar of Chak 128 GB and Liaquat Sharif Rajput of Awagat. Police claimed that they died on the way to the hospital, while the search for their accomplices was underway.

Police claimed that Gujjar was a dangerous dacoit with a record of 45 cases against him in different police stations of the district, while Rajput was also involved in at least nine dacoities.

CHINIOT: CCD claimed that their team headed by ASI Nasrullah Haji was patrolling near Baghra Sadat village when they were informed that six dacoits had looted the house of one Fazal Abbas in the Baghra Sadat village and they were fleeing towards Sar Murad Wala Road.

On this, the CCD claimed that the team initiated a pursuit and found the alleged dacoits running on foot towards the Sar Murad Wala village. On seeing the police party, CCD claimed that they entered a nearby crop field and started firing on the police.

Police claimed a bullet hit cop Waheed Abbas, but he was saved by a bulletproof jacket, while two shots hit the team’s vehicle.

More police contingents were called and when the firing stopped, police claimed to have found three injured criminals during a search operation.

Police claimed they were shot and injured by the firing of their own accomplices.

Police claimed the injured criminals introduced themselves as Ali Hamza of Chak 59, Sargodha; Naveed Abbas, a resident of Jehanian Shah village of Sargodha and Ghulam Raza Qasai of Jhang district and later they fell unconscious due to gunshot injuries.

Police claimed a Rescue 1122 team was called to take them to the hospital, however, the injured had died due to the injuries. The police also claim to have recovered two guns, looted cash, mobile phone and a watch from their pockets.

Police claimed Ali Hamza was found involved in 17 cases of dacoity, robbery and police encounters; Naveed Abbas in 12 such cases, while Ghulam Raza was involved in 19 heinous crimes across various districts of Punjab.

The CCD registered a case against them and their three fleeing unknown accomplices.
