Man dies by suicide after quarrel with wife

BAHAWALPUR: A man allegedly hanged himself to death with a ceiling fan at his house in W Block of People’s Colony in Vehari on Tuesday.

The police claimed that after his quarrel over domestic issues with his wife, Ashiq Hussain committed suicide in the absence of his wife and children. His body was shifted to DHQ Hospital for a post-mortem.

LAND: Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia says that 110,000 families would be allotted about 17,000 lots of 83,425 acres of land in Cholistan under CM’s scheme of “Apna Khet, Apna Rozegar”.

At a media briefing at the Government High School, Channan Pir, Yazman, the commissioner said applications for the allotment of land under this scheme could be submitted by May 18 after which balloting would be held for the selection of the eligible applicants. He added that a committee would settle all related issues.

Former senator Saood Majid Chaudhry and MPA Khalid Mahmood Jajja were also present.

ARRESTED: The Anti-Corruption Establishment arrested one Muhammad Babar Ali who had got employment as a dispenser in health department of Vehari on the basis of a fake NTS certificate.

On a tip-off, ACE Circle Officer Mansoor Hussain arrested him and registered an FIR against him.
