RAWALPINDI: Beautification measures are being taken for the improvement of major roads of Murree, under which the city’s main roads, intersections and tourist routes are being upgraded in a new way.

According to the district administration official, work of painting the edges of the roads and protective walls has started, while the street lights are not only being decorated with new colours but are also being made fully functional so that an effective and safe lighting system can be ensured at night.

In addition, special measures are also being taken to further improve the sanitation system, eliminate encroachments and maintain traffic flow.

The district administration official stated that the aim of these measures is not only to further highlight the natural beauty of Murree but also to provide safe, comfortable and quality travel facilities to tourists and local citizens.

In view of the increasing tourist pressure, special attention is being paid to strengthening the infrastructure.

He said that in the light of special instructions from the Punjab government, the plan to develop Murree on modern lines is progressing rapidly, under which urban facilities, traffic management and tourism services are being adapted to world standards.

He expressed the hope that with the completion of the ongoing measures, Murree will emerge as an attractive and safe tourist centre not only for domestic but also international tourists, where visitors will be provided with all possible facilities.
