QUETTA: Four people were killed and two others seriously injured in two separate firing incidents in the provincial capital Quetta on Tuesday.

Police said the first incident took place on Sariab Road, where unknown armed men opened indiscriminate fire on a vehicle near the Faizabad area. Three persons travelling in the vehicle were killed on the spot, while two others were injured.

Police officials said the armed men targeted the vehicle when the victims were returning from the Sariab sessions court after attending a hearing. Soon after the incident, police rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to the provincial Civil Hospital.

A spokesperson for the hospital said the deceased had received multiple bullet injuries, which caused their immediate death. Police identified the deceased as Muhammad Haroon, Abdul Ghaffar, and Naseebullah. The injured include Mir Jamil, the father of Haroon, and Abdul Khaliq.

After completing legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the heirs. The incident is believed to be the result of an old personal enmity.

Police have registered a case and started further investigation, though no suspects have been arrested so far.

In another incident, a man was shot dead on Qambrani Road in Quetta.

Police said the victim, identified as Khuda Bakhsh, was killed on the spot, while the attackers fled the scene. The body was shifted to hospital and later handed over to the family after necessary procedures.

Police are conducting further investigations.
