Two killed, five injured in separate incidents

TAXILA: Two persons were killed and five others injured in four different accidents in various parts of Attock and Taxila on Tuesday, police and rescue sources said.

In the first incident, a man was shot dead over a marriage issue in Bajri village in the limits of Pindigheb Police Station.

Police sources said that 30-year-old Muhammad Mehran was coming out of the mosque when a man identified as Misbah Bahadur, hiding there, opened indiscriminate firing on him.

As a result, he received three bullets and died on the spot.

The killer managed to escape from the scene successfully.

Moreover, a man drowned in a local dam in the same police station. Police and rescue sources said that Mudassir Iqbal, a native of Sultanabad, went to the Sarwia mini dam, where he lost control and drowned.

Later, his body was retrieved and handed over for burial.

Meanwhile, two people on board the motorcycle received critical injuries as the motorcycle they were going on collided head-on with a Suzuki pick-up on Rawalpindi-Kohat road near Pindsultani in the limits of Jand Police station.

The injured were shifted to THQ hospital Jand, where their condition is stated to be critical.

Moreover, three people received bullet injuries as two rival groups exchanged fire over a land dispute in Bun Bhola village in the limits of Taxila Police station.

The injured were identified as Danish, Sadeeq and Aabid.

The injured were taken to THQ hospital in Taxila, from where they were taken to Rawalpindi due to their critical condition.

The respective police registered separate cases and launched further investigation.
