LAHORE: The PML-N on Thursday staged a rally on Thursday to express solidarity with the people of the India-held Kashmir.
Information and Culture Minister Azma Bokhari led the rally. Speaking on the occasion, she said the Kashmir Solidarity Day represented the unmatched sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and their continued struggle against Indian oppression.
She added there was not a single day in Pakistan when solidarity with Kashmiris was not expressed.
“The entire nation stands firmly with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters.”
Ms Bokhari said the Occupied Kashmir had turned into the world’s largest prison where Kashmiris were deprived of basic human rights and even the freedom to live according to their own will.
“Despite decades of oppression by Indian forces, the Kashmiris have remained steadfast in their demand for the right to self-determination for more than 70 years, and even the presence of eight hundred thousand Indian troops has failed to suppress their spirit of freedom.”
Ms Bokhari further said the people of Punjab stood shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiris and Pakistan would continue to support them at the diplomatic, moral and humanitarian levels.
She emphasized that Kashmir remained a vital and integral part of Pakistan’s foreign policy and Pakistan would continue to raise the voice of Kashmiris on international platforms.
She expressed hope that the day of Kashmir’s freedom was near.
