It was attended by Culture Minister Syed Zulfikar Ali Shah, Mayor Kashif Ali Shoro, Special Assistant to the CM on Archives Sarfaraz Rajar, Commissioner Fayyaz Abbasi, Deputy Commissioner Zain UL Abiden Memon and others, besides a large number of locals.

Artists presented music, poetry and folktales to amuse the audience. Known Sughar (entertainer having folk wisdom) Juman Bhatti and his associates shared riddles with the audience and sang folk songs. Saif Samejo, Faqeer Zawar, Amaan Faqeer and others also demonstrated their singing skills to enthrall the audience.

The artists sat around the bonfire in the traditional rural settings to perform their art with cultural references.

Speaking to the audience, Zulfikar Shah highlighted his department’s efforts to promote culture and tourism. He said the Machh Kachehry is an old cultural custom of winter season. “It’s being resurrected,” he said, and pledged that attention would be paid to sports like malakhro, horse race and malh (Sindhi wrestling).
