RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has initiated strict legal action against Faisal Town Housing Scheme for serious violations of approved regulations.

An RDA spokesperson said that a First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged at Airport Police Station against the owner of Faisal Town, along with other members of the management.

With the cooperation of the police, the brother of the Faisal Town owner has been arrested during the operation.

He said that the management of Faisal Town Housing Scheme committed grave violations of the approved layout plan. These include failure to initiate any development work on the sewerage treatment plant, non-allotment of 53 plots within the housing scheme, and failure to develop the designated nullah.

These acts constitute clear violations of the applicable rules and regulations.

According to the RDA spokesperson, the action against Faisal Town Housing Scheme has been taken under the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976. The scheme’s administration had been issued multiple notices earlier. However, the violations were not rectified within the stipulated timeframe.

RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza stated that strict legal action would continue without discrimination against all illegal housing schemes and those violating approved regulations.

She emphasised that the protection of citizens’ rights and interests would be ensured at all costs. The DG RDA further directed the concerned officers to intensify operations against other housing schemes involved in violations.
