Zarea Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wang Chuang Xi Jun Chang Agri Ltd, a Chinese agri-platform, to explore advanced agricultural solutions in Pakistan, according to the company’s notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

The MoU details an initial phase commitment of $2 million as part of a long-term collaboration and was signed at the Pak-China Investment Conference in Islamabad.

CEO of Zarea told Dawn that he aims for the “collaboration to strengthen Pakistan–China ties, positioning Zarea as a platform for technology transfer and cross-border agricultural trade.” The collaboration will particularly focus on assessing the introduction of advanced seed technologies, technology-enabled agronomic and farm services, structured labour and grower management, along with a scalable production system.

The company noted that the partnership intends to support improvements in agricultural productivity, supply-chain efficiency, and traceability, while modernising Pakistan’s agri-value chain. It will also look towards facilitating international market exposure, technical know-how transfer, and potential export linkages for local growers and agribusiness stakeholders in both countries.

Zarea Limited said the initiative aligns with its long-term strategy of building a technology-enabled, integrated agricultural ecosystem and is expected to strengthen the company’s positioning in the agri-commodities segment.
