KARACHI: Police claim to have gunned down a suspected criminal in an alleged encounter in Pak Colony on Wednesday night.

They said the encounter took place near the Mewa Shah Graveyard. In an ensuing exchange of fire, the suspect, Aziz Rehman, was killed.

South-DIG Syed Asad Raza said that the killed suspect “was very active in cash snatching” and was wanted by the police in three bank robbery cases.

“He had a criminal record of more than 35 cases of heinous nature,” he said.
