LAHORE: The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) on Thursday conducted a raid in Sambrial, Sialkot, and claimed to have seized 7,000 kilograms of opium and arrested two suspects.

CNF said that according to the initial investigations, the recovered opium was intended to be transported to various cities across Punjab and Sindh for the preparation of hashish. Legal proceedings had been initiated against the arrested suspects, it added.

It said that over the past two months, the Punjab CNF conducted targeted operations leading to the recovery of narcotics worth more than Rs78 million in the market.

It said that it would continue intelligence-driven operations against drug trafficking networks, ensuring the complete dismantling of such mafias.
