ISLAMABAD: The naval chiefs of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Tuesday agreed to strengthen bilateral defence relationship between the two countries.

The chief of the naval staff of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Ghuraybi visited the Naval Headquarters Islamabad and met with his Pakistani counterpart, Admiral Naveed Ashraf.

During the meeting, both military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, regional maritime security situation, and avenues for enhanced cooperation in defence, training, and security.

The appreciated the successful conduct of PN-RSNF Exercise Naseem Al Bahr- XV, held in the North Arabian Sea earlier this year.

Admiral Ashraf highlighted Pakistan Navy’s initiatives for ensuring maritime security and regional stability through Regional Maritime SecurityPatrols.

Vice Admiral Al Ghuraybi appreciated and acknowledged Pakistan Navy’s contributions and unwavering commitment to collaborative maritime security efforts in the region.

He commended PN for the quality training being imparted to RSNF cadets at Pakistan Naval Academy and onboard PN Ships, noting its significant impact on their professional development.

Vice Admiral Al Ghuraybi and Admiral Ashraf reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening and diversifying the scope of existing bilateral defence relationship.

The visit of the Saudi chief of the naval staff will further enhance bilateral defence collaboration between the two countries.
